It’s All Planned Out...

Woodland adventures. Muddy knees. Craft tables spilling over with pinecones, googly eyes, and PVA glue. Hotdogs dripping with ketchup. Marshmallows toasted to that perfect golden crisp over an open fire. A treasure hunt through the meadow. Mud kitchen chaos. Tyre rolling races that descend into giddy laughter.

It was all imagined and ready to go.

The ultimate birthday bash. Outdoorsy, low-cost, creative and fun for all. The kind of party you remember for years, not because it was flashy, but because it was so much fun. The whole class could come along. Siblings too. No cap on numbers, no soft play stress, no “£17.50 per child” price tag. Just pure, wholesome, joyous fun.

Hands up, I admit I was delighted with myself for coming up with such a genius party plan. But of course, here comes the “but.”

The Birthday Boy has Other Plans

Turns out, my son (aka the whole reason for this celebration) doesn’t want a party after all. Not the woods. Not the hotdogs. Not the crafts. Not even the marshmallows, which are normally his absolute favourite whenever we go camping.

Nope. He’s set his heart on something entirely different, involving just a few friends. Much as it’s frustrating for me to admit it, he’s perfectly entitled to that. It’s his birthday, after all.

And that right there, is the golden nugget that inspired this post.

So… What’s This Got to Do with Writing?

Well, everything.

Because just like planning a party, copywriting isn’t about what I think is brilliant. It’s not about what I would do, or what I personally love. It’s about what you want. What your audience needs. What your message is trying to achieve.

You could have the slickest, cleverest copy in the world—but if it’s not aligned with your brand, your tone, your goals? It misses the mark. Just like an awesome woodland party that no one actually wants.

You have to meet people where they are.

So when I write for you, I ask the questions. I dig into the details. I figure out who you’re talking to, what you want to say, how you want to say it, and (crucially) why.

Because copy that converts, that connects, that cuts through the noise...

…that comes from listening first.

Here's How I Work

I’m a meticulous planner (as the party shenanigans may have hinted at). I love getting stuck into the strategy just as much as the writing. And I never assume. I ask.

A pencil, rubber and drawing of a question mark inside a light bulb on plain paper

Whether you're launching a new venture, refreshing your website, or finally getting around to that welcome email series you've been meaning to do for months. I'll help you bring it to life with copy that feels just right for YOU.

Because when the message is clear, you connect with your audience easily.

So, What’s Next?

Here at KV Creative Copy HQ, I’m ready when you are.

Whether you’ve got a nailed down brief or a big web of ideas you can’t quite untangle, we’ll figure it out together. I’ll help shape your words into something purposeful, powerful, and perfectly aligned with what you need.

Let’s write something brilliant together.

Or if you want me to plan you a children's party, I'm pretty good at that too!
