Variety is the spice, isn't it?

Whenever I look at other people's blogs (professional snooping, no less, perhaps moonlighting as inspiration hunting) I can't help but feel like everyone seems to sort of be doing the same things as each other - covering the same ground. Am I wrong?

It does seem a shame when we are all very much individuals out in the wide world with so much to say, yet there is so much repetition it is hard to remember just who is saying what. I also find it a shame that someone like me who is starting out and gaining experience cannot then learn from others if there is a wash of the same old chat all over the place.

To be different is to be beautiful

Now take this for an example: 120 safari animals have recently hit the streets of Norwich - thankfully not real ones. Phew! Luckily the fantastic trail app is tracking how many creatures we have found as a family so, happily, I don't have to keep count. However, I know one thing for certain... I have not seen ANY that are remotely the same as another. There are so many beautiful ways to decorate a sculpture that there is simply no need to duplicate.

So why are so many writers churning out the same old, same old?

I confess, occasionally I trawl about looking for fresh ideas, but I almost always find my inspiration actually comes from opening my ears and eyes to the world, rather than wading through the humdrum content that has flooded the internet these days.

What I see is a wide variety of copywriters who are all trying to vie for exactly the same space by saying things like "Write for your particular niche." Well, it seems ironic that so many people are saying this that are clearly not actually practising what they preach. It seems that everyone's niche has ceased to be niche at all!

Yes, it could be said that my meandering mind lands on whatever it lands on with no particular strategy or progression in mind so far. Fine. That is true. But, it might not always be the case. Inspiration, or instruction from a client, is the leader. I feel that if I become obsessed with making a flow of content to build my website and experience, then surely I will just turn hearing-aid beige and be forgettable like everyone else online that I have been regularly reading and forgetting... no?

Variety will always be my spice of life. Whatever the project, big or small, if you want someone who purposefully doesn't think like everyone else, then get in touch.

I will never settle for mediocre. Never have, Never will. I listen, I take it all in, I follow your lead and take the time to understand your message. Then that is where your individuality will shine through in this world of vanilla messaging.

Stand out from the crowd. I dare you!
